UPPL gets more than 450 new members
KOKRAJHAR,FEB 14: The erosion of party leaders and workers from the opposition BPF party is continue in Bodoland region.
On Friday, former MLA of Chapaguri LAC,senior BPF leader and Mushalpur district committee president,Hitesh Basumatary,formally joined the UPPL along with more than 400 members at a grand joining programme held at Mushalpur Durga Mandir complex in Baksa district amidst presence of UPPL president and chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Pramod Boro,Assam cabinet minister and senior UPPL leader, Urkhao Gwra Brahma.
CEM of BTR, Pramod Boro, cabinet minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma, BTC deputy CEM and UPPL vice president, Gabinda Chandra Basumatary, UPPL general secretary, Raju Kumar Narzary,ex minister Chandan Brahma,ex BTC deputy chief,Kampa Borgoyary,and several senior party leaders greeted and welcomed Hitesh Basumatary with party mafflers and traditional Aronai.
Notably, Basumatary was one of signatories of BTC Accord of 2003, and represented the Mushalpur BTC Constituency from 2005 to 2011, and held the position of executive member in Bodoland Territorial Council.He was elected to the Assam Legislative Assembly representing the Chapaguri LAC in 2011 and continued till 2016.
He was holding the president of Mushalpur district committee of BPF party,and recently tendered his resignation from the post as well primary membership of the BPF party.
He along with more than 400 party workers and his followers joined the UPPL party that showcased a strengthening of the ruling UPPL party in Bodoland Territorial Region.
In Kokrajhar, more than 50 prominent personalities and BPF party leaders were joined the UPPL party in the presence of UPPL president Pramod Boro,and senior party leaders.
Former ABSU general secretary, Gautam Mushahary, former cashier of ABSU,Jashamanik Brahma, and several BPF party workers and members representing the Baukhungri block joined the UPPL party.
CEM of BTR Pramod Boro welcomed the newly joined members, said that today peoples cutting across the communities are joining the UPPL party as BTR government under the leadership of Pramod Boro has been rendering services towards the welfare and development of the common masses.He stated that the opposition BPF party is now become irrelevant amongst the citizens due to aimless performing enviornment within the party organisation.He has alleged that BPF party failed to address the problem and grievances of the society in their 17 year rule in Bodoland Territorial Council as peoples had to face severe hardship situations.
He said that the UPPL party and BTR government is committed to work for all round development of the citizens, and subsequently rendering relentless services.
He mentioned that peoples cutting across the communities are coming forward to join the UPPL party,and several hundred peoples from irrespective of party and organisations have joined the UPPL party everyday.
