Bye-election campaigning gains momentum

KOKRAJHAR,NOV 10: The ruling United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) has asserted that the party is committed to work for all round development and welfare of the common peoples in Bodoland Territorial Region.

Addressing the reporters on Sunday at a press conference held at the UPPL central office in Kokrajhar, UPPL vice president and former MCLA of BTC, Afjal Haque Sarkar stated that the peace and tranquility is prevailed in Bodoland region since post signing of BTR Peace Accord in 2020(27th January) which withessesd an environment of healthy integration and unity of the communities.

He said that the BTR region is now progress on various developmental aspects and welfare sector as peoples cutting across the communities are expressing their good faith and belief on the UPPL party and BTR government.
He said that the BTR government under the leadership of Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region has launched various mission and vision to make healthy developmental aspects across the region with involving citizens on various social welfare initiatives.

Sarkar said that the better governance in BTR is prevailed,and accordingly the developmental issues of the society are being implemented so far.
He mentioned that nearly 10,000 women SHGs have been extended financial support amounting of INR 25,000 each in the entire districts of BTR in last four years under the Mainao Swrang Bithangkhi.He also mentioned more than 27,600 needy poor peoples have given financial with INR 5000 each under Onsungthai Bithangkhi and 21,700 students were received financial support with INR 5000 each under Giyan Swrang Bithangkhi from the Govt of BTR.

He stated that more than 700 religious institutions received INR 2 lakh under the Alari Swrang Bithangkhi initiative of the Govt of BTR.
Sarkar said that the government of BTR under the leadership of Pramod Boro,the CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region have so far implemented various schemes and welfare initiatives meant for the common masses since it’s inception in the reign in BTR.

On the bye-elections in Sidii LAC,Sarkar expressed his confident that the UPPL candidate, backed by the NDA alliance, Nirmal Kumar Brahma’s winning is cleared as peoples cutting across the communities are coming forward to extend support and vote in favour of UPPL candidate. He said that Nirmal Kumar Brahma, UPPL candidate, backed by the NDA alliance is winning the Sidli LAC bye election scheduled on November 13 in a huge margin of votes.

He also said that the UPPL party and NDA alliance partners are working dedicatedly towards the welfare and development of the citizens across the region as well as state.
He said that massive campaigning meeting in favour of NDA alliance candidate Brahma are going on across the Sidli LAC.

Replying to a question on Opposition,Sarkar said that the opposition BPF party is an aimless party,and the party have no any human well-being activities in today’s juncture.He said that the opposition party can’t display any manifesto or human well-being activities during the bye-election in Sidli LAC. He alleged that the BPF party never thought of the welfare and uplift of the common masses during their 17 year rule in Bodoland Territorial Council,and accordingly citizens were deprived from all fronts of welfare aspects.
He said that the BPF party and Hagrama Mohilary become now irrelevant amongst the citizens as Mohilary had failed to address the grievances and developmental aspects of the region.

Sarkar strongly criticised the BPF party and Hagrama Mohilary for unwanted and fabricated remarks on CEM of BTR, Pramod Boro, said that common masses avoid the importance of Mohilary and BPF party, and accordingly BPF leaders are now facing frustration.
