KOKRAJHAR,FEB 16: Kokrajhar is set to host the inaugural sitting of the Assam Legislative Assembly’s Budget Session at the BTC Legislative Assembly, Bodofa Nwgwr on February 17, marking a historic occasion as the session is being held for the first ever outside Dispur.
Ahead of the session, Assam Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary, Pramod Boro,the CEM of BTR, BTC Legislative Assembly Speaker Katiram Boro, and minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma inspected the BTC Legislative Assembly premises to assess the final preparations.
Security arrangements and logistical setups have been reviewed to ensure the smooth conduct of proceedings.
Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya will deliver his customary address under Article 176(1) of the Constitution, outlining the government’s vision and priorities.
Governor Acharya was arrived in Kokrajhar on Saturday evening,and camping for the Budget Session of the Assam Legislative Assembly.
Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has highlighted that a key focus of the session will be strengthening governance in the Sixth Schedule areas.
Following this special sitting in Kokrajhar, the remainder of the Budget Session will be held at the permanent assembly building in Guwahati.
CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro stated that the Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar is fully prepared to host the Budget Session of the Assam Legislative Assembly.He has welcomed and hailed the inaugural sitting of the Budget Session of the Assam Legislative Assembly being held in Kokrajhar that marking a great event in Bodoland region.He said that the Budget Session will be regarded as a historic and milestone for the citizens of the region as all elected members of the Assam Legislative Assembly are participating the session.
