Special Health and Wellness camp launched in Baksa

KOKRAJHAR, APRIL 4: A district-level special Health and Wellness camp under the theme of “Healthy Society, Healthy Assam”, was inaugurated on Friday at the DIET campus, Barimukh in Baksa district.

The event was graced by Katiram Boro, Speaker of the BTC Legislative Assembly, along with  Gautam Das, District Commissioner of Baksa; Jituraj Gogai, ADC; Dr. Sachindra Das, Joint Director of Health Services (In-Charge), Baksa; and several other dignitaries and officials.
The camp witnessed an enthusiastic turnout of over 300 attendees who availed themselves of various health services offered during the day. The initiative aims to raise public awareness about preventive healthcare and inform citizens about various ongoing health programmes.

These Special Health and Wellness Camps are designed to educate people on the prevention of both communicable and non-communicable diseases, while also promoting physical and mental well-being.
Key services provided at the camp included maternal and child health check-ups, screenings for diabetes, high blood pressure, oral cancer, and mental health conditions, as well as testing and consultations for tuberculosis, leprosy, malaria, and sickle cell disease. Additional services included eye, ear, nose, and dental care, tele consultations, general health check-ups, yoga and meditation sessions, nutritional counselling, and a range of public awareness activities focused on overall health and wellness.
