KOKRAJHAR, SEP 6: Eminent authors Gabinda Basumatary and Dr Arupa Patangia Kalita were conferred the prestigious Pramod Chandra Brahma Literary Award 2022-23 for their literary contributions in the field of Bodo literary and other than Bodo literature across the state of Assam.
Notably, the prestigious Pramod Chandra Brahma Literary Award has been instituted by the department of Education, government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) and giving away every year to the authors/ social thinkers those are contributing a lot towards uplift and development of Bodo literary and other than Bodo literature across the state as well as a whole in the nation.
Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Assam cabinet minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma handed over the Pramod Chandra Brahma Literary Award to literary luminaries Gabinda Basumatary and Dr Arupa Patangia Kalita on recognition their commendable contribution in the field of education and literature, especially Bodo literary and other than Bodo literature.
Basumatary is hailed from Kajalgon of Chirang and Dr Kalita is from Udalguri.
The award giving ceremony was organised on the occasion of celebration of 62nd Teacher’s Day celebration being held at Salbari College in Baksa on Tuesday amidst presence of huge gathering.
Both renowned authors were felicitated with traditional Aronai and the award is consisting of a cheque of Rs. 2 lakh, a memento, and a citation.
CEM Boro has extended his congratulations to the renowned authors who were awarded the prestigious Pramod Chandra Brahma Literary Award from the BTR government, said that the government of Bodoland Territorial Region is honouring the eminent authors with prestigious award who are contributing a lot towards the welfare and development of the literature world especially Bodo literary.
