North East defeats Indian Army in Durand Cup

KOKRAJHAR,AUG 21: The North East United FC won the quarter finals match of the Durand Cup defeating Indian Army FT by 2-0 goals in a enthusiastic sporting amusement being held at the SAI STC stadium in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.

Till the first half, both the team have presented enthusiastic sporting events with the goalless at an well attended gathering of sports lovers.
In the second half, players of the North East scored two goals against the Indian Army with an impressive enthusiasm moments.Although, the Indian Army tried to reduce goals by scoring goals against the North East,but failed to score any goals,and lost to the North East by 0-2 goals.

The North East United FC has entered the semi finals of the ongoing 133rd edition of Durand Cup defeating Indian Army.

The chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro graced as chief guest on the day,and inaugurated the quarter finals match held today at the SAI STC stadium in Kokrajhar for Kokrajhar leg of the Durand Cup.
CEM Boro,was accompanied by BTCLA speaker Katiram Boro, BTR EM, Daobaisa Boro,and senior Indian Army officials.

CEM Boro also inaugurated a commemorative book titled “Bodoland Calling – A Journey Through Tradition, Heritage and the Spirit of the Durand Cup ”, published in connection with the Kokrajhar-leg of the 133d Durand Cup.
The book features the exquisite natural heritage and vibrant cultural diversity of BTR, traces the rich football legacy of BTR & the North East, and showcases the incredible 133 year-old history of the Durand Cup. The book shines a spotlight on the Kokrajhar Chapter of the 133rd Durand Cup, and recaps the immense excitement & fanfare that surrounded the first-ever hosting of the Durand Cup in Kokrajhar in 2023.
