KOKRAJHAR,OCT 6: Along with rest of the state,the ceremonial distribution of cheques under the Mukhya Mantri Nijut Moina Aasoni scheme took place across entire Kokrajhar district on Sunday amidst presence of girl students and teaching fraternities.
In Kokrajhar district, a total of 5704 students received the cheques.
Kokrajhar LAC MLA, Lawrence Islary graced the program at Girls College, Kokrajhar, where he distributed cheques to eligible students.
Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Legislative Assembly Speaker, Katiram Boro participated in the program at Janata College and distributed the cheques, while BTC executive member Ukil Muchahary led the event at the Bodofa Cultural Complex, BTC executive member Wilson Hasda took part in the distribution at Bodoland University.
Moreover, MLA Rabiram Narzary took part in Fakiragram College, MLA Jiron Basumatary at Gossaigaon College, BTC MCLA took part at Dotma UN Brahma College and APTDC vice chairman Banendra Muchahary took part in the distribution program at Tipkai Higher Secondary School and distributed the cheques.
The Mukhya Mantri Nijut Moina (MMNM) scheme is a program in Assam that provides monthly stipends to girl students to support their higher education and to prevent child marriage.
The student beneficiaries have expressed their happiness and gratitude to the state government and BTR government for initiating the noble step for extending financial support to the girl students across the state.
