KOKRAJHAR, MAR 21: A Mock Drill on Off-Site Emergency Preparedness & Village Awareness was conducted at Swrang High School ground in Kokrajhar, as part of an initiative by IOCL Guwahati-Siliguri Pipeline (Bongaigaon Pump Station) and OIL Pump Station-6, Bongaigaon on Friday.

During the exercise, a simulated oil spill scenario led to a fire breakout, which was swiftly brought under control by the fire brigade.
The drill aimed to test emergency response mechanisms, train personnel, and educate local villagers on safety protocols in case of real-life industrial hazards.

Experts from IOCL and OIL demonstrated critical response measures, including firefighting techniques, evacuation procedures, and first aid training.
The drill also reinforced coordination between industry personnel, local administration, and emergency response teams to ensure preparedness for potential disasters.
Local villagers actively participated, gaining valuable knowledge on emergency handling which was organised by the IOCL Guwahati.
