KOKRAJHAR, AUG 20: Stepping for building up a deep communication, cooperation and relationship between Arunachal Pradesh and Assam (Bodoland Territorial Region), a Bodo civic meet & interactive session on understanding the socio-cultural issues of Bodos in Arunachal Pradesh was held in Itanagar on Sunday.
The event was organised by All Arunachal Pradesh Bodo Welfare Society being held at the Dorjee Khandu Convention Hall, Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh where Bodo peoples from different parts of Arunachal Pradesh state as well Biswanath and Sonitpur district of Assam participated in a large numbers.
The event saw a good discussion on the bringing up healthy welfare and development of the Bodo peoples those are living in both the region.
The chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu graced the occasion as chief guest.
In his speech, Kandhu lauded and appreciated the organisers for organising the event while exploring the deepest cooperation and relationship among the people living on Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border. He has appraised that this is a first ever interactive session to discuss the socio-cultural issues of Bodos in Arunachal Pradesh took place today where people living on the Assam-Arunachal border gathered.
” It is a significant moment in the chapter of Assam-Arunachal relation, the event was graced by top leaders of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Nyishi Elite Society and the members of Bodo community living in Arunachal Pradesh. Such a leap forward has been made possible with the governments of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh having worked successfully on practical considerations including well-defined territorial boundaries”,Kandhu said adding that more room for cooperation is being explored. As a head start, he promised a Cultural Centre for Bodo community at Itanagar.
He has extended his thanks to concerted efforts of all stakeholders, we(both Assam-Arunachal) have come a long way in fostering harmony and peaceful coexistence among the people living on Assam-Arunachal border.
” I am thankful to Shri Pramod Boro Ji, Hon’ble Chief Executive Member of BTR, for a cultural stall for Arunachal at Srirampur Gate – the checkpoint at Assam-West Bengal border, which is also known as the gateway to Northeast”, Kandhu added.
The chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro graced occasion which attracted event more colourful.
CEM Boro expresses his hopeful that the interactive session, organised by All Arunachal Pradesh Bodo Welfare Society, will serve to strengthen the bond and will bring people closer on both the region of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh in days to come.
He said the Bodo people have had a historic & deeply fraternal bond with the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
