KOKRAJHAR, NOV 24: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) hosts a mass gathering being held at Green Field, Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar on Friday which saw huge gathering of peoples from different areas under Kokrajhar LAC. The gathering was organised by Kokrajhar district committee of BJP party.
The chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) and UPPL president, Pramod Boro while addressing the gathering said that the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi came to Kokrajhar after signing of the historic BTR peace accord and attended a grand mass gathering where he assured that there should not be anymore tears in the eyes of mothers of Bodoland region. The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah and Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma too echoed the same tune and thus peace has been established in reality, he said adding that after 40 years of violence and bloodshed, nowadays people can move anywhere overnight in Bodoland region.
He said that various development projects were being implemented in BTC, launched various missions from education to sports and Agriculture to infrastructures. He also said the BJP and UPPL will field joint candidates in Kokrajhar and Darrang-Udalguri parliamentary constituencies in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections due in early 2024.
“BTR is on the path of peace & progress today, and it’s all due to Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s visionary guidance & the stellar leadership of Hon’ble CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. Together, our strong & united alliance will ensure a resounding 3rd consecutive victory for Adarniya PM Narendra Modi Ji”, Boro added.
Assam cabinet minister, Jayanta Malla Baruah in his speech said the strong mass gathering in Kokrajhar has ensured that the candidates of BJP and UPPL will win with huge margins in the upcoming 2024 parliamentary election to make sure of Narendra Modi ‘s return as Prime Minister for third consecutive terms to lead the nation.
Minister Pijush Hazarika said the Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma promised the people to provide Arunodoi scheme, micro finance loan to women and job to one lakh youths. These promises are being translated in to reality by giving Arunodoi scheme to 27 lakh families, 86,000 youths are given job till today and micro finance loan of women are recovered by the Government, he added.
Among others, UPPL general secretary, Raju Kumar Narzary, MLA Lawrence Islary, BTC EMs- Reo Reowa Narzihary, Ronendra Narzary, Arup Kumar Dey, MCLAs Sajal Kr Singha, Rajib Brahma, Suresh Tanti, MLAs- Bijay Malakar and Suren Phukan were prominent attendees in the event.
On the occasion, more than 100 members from various political parties including former members of the NDFB joined the BJP party.
