Recalls contributions of founding members 

KOKRAJHAR,FEB 15: The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) celebrated its 58th foundation day on Saturday at UN Academy School campus in Kokrajhar in a befitting programme scheduled.

ABSU president Dipen Boro hoisted the organizational flag followed by floral tributes to the Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, and other Martyrs.
Notably,the ABSU was founded on 15th February in 1967 with Baneswar Basumatary as president and Kanakewar Narzary as general secretary.

The students union has been rendering services towards the welfare and uplift of the Bodo and other down trodden communities since it’s inception across the state.
Marking the more than five decade long journey on it’s existence of the students union,a key highlight of the day was an open discussion on “ABSU and Vision for Bodo Nation Building,” was held on the occasion focusing on the organization’s future strategies and challenges.
Dr Surath Narzary, Bodo Sahitya Sabha president graced the occasion as chief guest on the occasion, Joyanta Basumatary, Lok Sabha MP, Noted journalist Samudra Gupta Kashyap, Prof Indira Boro, Bodoland University,Dr Adaram Basumatary, principal of Kokrajhar Girl’s College, Krishna Gopal Basumatary, director of UN Academy, Kokrajhar,and several distinguished dignitaries were present in the event.

Since its establishment in 1967, ABSU has been instrumental in championing educational reforms, preserving Bodo culture, and addressing socio-political issues. The organisation has played a critical role in negotiations and movements that have shaped the Bodo community’s aspirations and identity.
Foundation Day celebrations extended beyond Kokrajhar, with various programs held across Assam to acknowledge ABSU’s contributions.
 Community members, activists, and leaders came together to honor the organisation’s legacy and discuss its ongoing efforts toward progress.

ABSU leaders reiterated their dedication to educational and social advancement, emphasizing the need for collective action to tackle contemporary challenges. The anniversary served as a reminder of the union’s enduring mission to uplift the Bodo people and strengthen their future
ABSU president Dipen Boro extended his greetings to all citizens of the state on the occasion,said that today the students union celebrated 58th glorious year on it’s existence.He said that the students union has been rendering it’s services towards the uplift of educational environment and social integration across the community since it’s inception.He has recalled contributions of founding members of the students union, said that the students union will always be remembered’ contribution and dedications of founding members,and Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma,who had rendered their relentless services towards the welfare and development of the Bodo and other down trodden communities in the state.
