“We have seen cabinet minister of Assam visiting Mazbat and Fakiragram in Kokrajhar next day to take stock of the situation arising out of rape case on a non-tribal girl and land related clash respectively but neither minister nor officials from Dispur has reached Dudhnoi in the last 56 days of rape and murder case occurred at Balapara, Dudhnoi in Goalpara district, clearly shows the anti-tribal mindset of the government of Assam”, he said adding that there could be some technical stagnation because the rape victims and murdered youth belonged to Bodo tribal people. “It is shameful on the part of the government to take initiative against the criminals only after massive agitation”, he said, adding that the government should be impartial in dealing with the criminal activities as they have responsibilities to ensure safety and security to every daughter of the state. He also said the rape and attempt to rape by a section of people became like a regular phenomenon in several parts of Assam which needs special attention and intervention of the Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma to take stringent measures to end the inhumane act and to deliver due justice to rape and murder victims.

The ABSU president said the Prime accused individuals of Dudhnoi rape case and subsequent murder of Hiranmoy Khaklari, brother of one of the rape victims- Dhan Ali Talukdar and his associates- Bahar Ali and Rahman Ali have not been initiated for harsh punishment. He said no normal case should be given to criminal accused but they must be given hang to death sentence and Rs. 20 lakhs should be given to the kin of the victim’s family.
