KOKRAJHAR,MAR 27: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) carried out a protest rally in Kokrajhar town against the illegal trade and circulation of the deadly drug Borbih on Wednesday. The demonstration aimed to raise awareness and demand strict action against drug-related activities in the region.
The rally was led by AASU central vice president, Nabajyoti Roy and district president Jius Choudhury which was commenced from the AASU district office premises and proceeded towards the District Commissioner’s office, passing through key areas of the town.
During the protest, AASU members and local residents voiced their concerns over the rising drug menace and its impact on society, particularly on the youth. The demonstrators urged authorities to take immediate and strict action against those involved in drug trafficking.
Hundreds AASU members and concerned citizens participated in the rally, making it a significant demonstration of public resistance against drug abuse. The protest highlighted the urgent need for stronger enforcement measures to curb the spread of illegal drugs in the region.
AASU has been at the forefront of several movements addressing social and youth-related issues, and this protest reaffirms its commitment to fighting against drug abuse in Assam.
The students union leaders urged the concerned authorities to take bold initiatives against the drug abusive situation across the region.
