CM Dr Sarma attends International Day of Yoga celebration in Baksa

KOKRAJHAR,JUNE 21: In a vibrant celebration of health, mindfulness, and global unity,the 11th International Day of Yoga was celebrated across the districts of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) on Saturday.

The Chief Minister of Assam,Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma attended the Yoga Day celebration being organised at the Salbari playground in Baksa district amidst a well attended participation from the region.

The event was organised centrally by Govt of Assam in association with government of BTR and Baksa district administration.
Dr Sarma was accompanied by Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, Urkhao Gwra Brahma, cabinet minister.

CM Sarma has extended his yoga day greetings to all citizens of the state,and stated that the day has been marked the importance of regular practice of yoga for leading a healthy and disease free life.He said that the state government organised the day centrally in Baksa in association with BTR government where thousands of participants participated.

CEM of BTR, Pramod Boro stated that the yoga day marked a celebration of healthy health building amongst the citizens with a mission of global healing and wellness under the theme of Yoga – for one earth,one health and one BTR.
He has termed that the celebration of the 11th International Day of Yoga 2025 was marked with great enthusiasm in Salbari, Baksa.

In Kokrajhar,the district administration of Kokrajhar organised the day at the KDSA stadium with a befitting programme scheduled.
Rajya Sabha MP, Rwngwra Narzary graced the event as guest and participated the yoga practice session.
Bodoland University observed the 11th International Yoga Day today at the Old Nileswar Brahma Auditorium, marking the occasion with enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and distinguished guests.

Held under the global theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” the event highlighted the profound role of yoga in promoting both personal well-being and ecological harmony.
NTPC Bongaigaon, Salakati celebrated the International Day of Yoga 2025 with great enthusiasm and participation across all age groups. The event was led by Shri Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, who, along with employees, their family members, and township residents, actively participated in the mass yoga session organized at the station premises.

This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” highlighted the intrinsic connection between individual well-being and planetary health. The session promoted harmony between the body, mind, and environment, reaffirming NTPC’s commitment to sustainable living and holistic wellness.

The yoga session was conducted by Shri Madhusudan Pramanik, a former NTPC employee, certified yoga guru, and member of the Indian Yoga Association. His guidance brought depth and clarity to the practice, which included asanas, breathing exercises (pranayama), and guided meditation tailored to enhance wellness in both personal and professional life.

Also present on the occasion were Shri Debabrata Kar, General Manager (O&M), Smt. Kasturi Maitra, President of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, Smt. Soumya Kar, Vice President of the Club, along with representatives of union and association bodies, welfare committees, and township members, all of whom lent their support to the event, reflecting NTPC Bongaigaon’s inclusive and community-driven spirit.

The event created a vibrant and positive atmosphere, as participants across generations came together in celebration of yoga as a lifestyle. The programme concluded with a collective resolve to embrace yoga in everyday life—fostering inner peace, resilience, and contributing toward a healthier planet.
