KOKRAJHAR,AUG 12: At-least four persons death and two others sustained serious injuries due to road mishap today morning at the 27 national highway infront of the Mahamaya Temple, Kachugaon in Kokrajhar district.
According to local source, a group of six persons were boarded at the picked up Bolero after performing Bolbom worship at the Mahamaya Temple, Kachugaon,and immediately a ladden truck coming from the western direction hit the Bolero picked up,and claimed four lives on the spot.
The persons were from Hatigarh village of Gurufela under Kachugaon police station.
The injury persons identified as Nava Roy and Binan Roy who were immediately rushed to the Gossaigaon civil hospital for treatment after the incident.
The death persons were identified as Sukraman Roy (20),Joy Roy (11), Bappi Ghosh (21) and Basudev Roy (26).
Since the road mishap incident, local peoples from the Gurufela area staged a protest dharna along the National Highway at Gurufela on demand of a strict investigation into the incident and punished the truck staffs who were immediately absconded after the incident.
Local peoples also demanded a compensation for the victim family members.
A police team from Gossaigaon rushed the spot to take stock about the incident,and started it’s investigation into the incident.
