CM Sarma lauds Bodo Sahitya Sabha 1

KOKRAJHAR, JAN 22: The 63rd annual conference of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) was concluded on Sunday after a three day colourful programme scheduled held at Boko Gandhi Maidan in Kamrup district.
During the conference, the Bodo Sahitya Sabha thoroughly discussed on various key issues and upliftment of the Bodo literary, Bodo language,Bodo medium educational environment, cultural integration etc.

On the open session of the conference being held on the concluding day on Sunday, Assam chief minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma graced the as chief guest.
In his speech,Dr Sarma has lauded the Bodo Sahitya Sabha for its role in the development of Bodo language, culture and tradition through which today Bodo literary and language reached out in today’s juncture.
” The Bodo Sahitya Sabha has contributed immensely in protecting the heritage and consciousness of the Bodo tribe”, he said adding that the state government is making necessary steps for bringing healthy welfare and development of the Bodo society in days to come.

Dr Sarma made several important announcements for the overall development of the Bodo society which are included immediate implementation of the decision to upgrade 50 high schools in Bodo medium to higher secondary level, decision to donate 20 lakh rupees for construction of Tinsukia, Charaideu, Golaghat, Hojai, Morigaon, Lakhimpur, Biswanath, Kamrup, Barpeta and Sonitpur District Sahitya Sabha building, approval of 7 posts with previous 7 posts and 7 posts in the Assam Legislative Assembly for the transmission of Bodo language.

He has made announcement of approval of 1 crore rupees to Kamrup District Literary Sabha for building a beautiful auditorium.
He has also assured to construct Boko Chakrapani, 10 kilometer road connecting National Highway from Satkhali village, Public Health Center connecting National Highway, 3 kilometer road connecting Boko Railway Station, development of road connecting Boko Girls High School-Tepesia Primary School.

Pramod Boro,the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) attended the conference as special guest.
He said that the Bodo Sahitya Sabha is an apex literary body of Bodo community.He has appreciated the Bodo Sahitya Sabha and it’s leaders for organising the annual conference in a successful manner that gathered a well discussion on the uplift and development of the Bodo language, education, literary.He said that the BTR government is initiating step to extend helping hand the Sahitya Sabha in near future.
Among others,Assam cabinet minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma,vice president of Sahitya Akademi, Prof Kumud Sharma were prominent attendees in the event.

The annual conference witnessed a multi community cultural demonstration that created cultural integrational amusement amongst the audience.
