KOKRAJHAR, AUG 21: The Gorkha Samaj of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) celebrated its third foundation day with daylight programme scheduled held at the auditorium hall of Science College in Kokrajhar on Monday.
The celebration has been coincided with the observation of 32nd Nepali Bhasha Manyata Diwash which was saw a grand participation from different districts of Bodoland region.
An open session was held with Uttam Pradhan, president of BTR Gorkha Samaj in the chair.
The chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro graced the occasion as chief guest.
In his speech, Boro said that the BTR government is committed to work for all round development of the society and accordingly rendering services for bringing sustainable development in the region. He said that the BTR government has so far initiated several vision and mission to create healthy developmental environment which are included Bodofa Super 50 Mission for civil services, Bodoland Skill Development Mission, Bodoland Mushroom Mission, Bodoland Pig Mission etc.
He has annouced to extend financial support to the Gorkha Samaj for construction of Gorkha Bhawan in BTR districts from the government of BTR.
Among others, MLA Lawrence Islary, BTR MCLA Madhab Chetry, AAGSU president Arjun Chetry, ABSU general secretary Khanindra Basumatary, UPPL media secretary Hantigiri Narzary, UPPL youth wing’s working president Iraqdao Brahma,leaders from Assam Gorkha Sanmeloni, Bharatiya Gorkha Parishangha were prominent attendees in the programme.
