Urkhao Gwra Brahma Steps Up Campaign in Kachugaon

KOKRAJHAR, Sept 18: With the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections scheduled for September 22 drawing near, campaigning has gained momentum across all constituencies.

In the Kachugaon BTC constituency, Cabinet Minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma has taken an active role in strengthening the party’s outreach efforts. The minister participated in a series of pocket campaigns organized in support of UPPL candidate Ukil Muchahary. These campaigns were held in different villages and localities across the constituency, attracting enthusiastic participation from the public.
During his visits, Urkhao Gwra Brahma personally interacted with voters, listening to their concerns and assuring them of the UPPL’s commitment to bringing peace, stability, and inclusive development to the region. He highlighted the achievements of the UPPL-led administration in the BTR so far and urged the people to support Ukil Muchahary to ensure continued progress in Kachugaon.
In Salakati constituency, BPF candidate Derhasat Basumatary conducted a series of pocket meetings, interacting with voters and sharing his promises for the region. Similarly, UPPL candidate Lawrence Islary has stepped up his campaign activities, holding multiple pocket meetings across the constituency.

A significant boost for the UPPL came when over 200 individuals from various parties joined the party at a ceremony held in Salakati.

Meanwhile, BJP candidate Kabita Basumatary and Congress candidate Rajib Basumatary were also actively seen engaging in pocket campaigns, making the electoral contest in Salakati increasingly vibrant.
