KOKRAJHAR, JUNE 21: The ruling United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) have hailed and welcome the publication of draft of Lok Sabha and Assembly constituency’s delimitaton by election commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday across the state of Assam.

Notably, Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency has been retained as reserved for ST in the draft publication while entire BTR districts have been seen that MLA segment has been increased to 15 from existing 12 seats with paving the six reserved for ST.

Chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) and UPPL president, Pramod Boro while welcoming the draft of publication of the constituency redelimitaton in the state, said that it is a process initiated by ECI. He said that the constituency redelimitaton process will be fruitful for the citizens of the state in days to come.
He has extended his sincere thanks to the ECI and chief minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma for smoothly publication of draft of delimitaton of the constituencies including Lok Sabha and MLA segments.

Rajya MP Rwngwra Narzary and Assam cabinet minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma have also expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the ECI for publication of draft of delimitaton in the state where Kokrajhar Lok Sabha seat is retained as reserved for ST and MLA segments have been found increased to 15 from existing 12.

UPPL general secretary Raju Kumar Narzary while extending sincere gratitude to the ECI and state government, especially chief minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, said that it is a pleasure moment for the citizens of the region as Kokrajhar Lok Sabha seat retained reserved for ST and MLA segments are increased.
