Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiling statue of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma in New Delhi

KOKRAJHAR, APRIL 30: The Kailash Colony in New Delhi is all set stage to inaugurate the Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma Marg and unveiling statue of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, former president of the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) along the Kailash Colony in New Delhi on Thursday(1st May).

The inauguration day mark the observation of 35th death anniversary of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, being organised in New Delhi amidst a grand participation of the people.
This event marks an important recognition for the Bodo community. Notably, this will be the second roadway in New Delhi commemorating a distinguished personality from Assam, following the one dedicated to Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi.
Necessary preparation and arrangements are so far completed this evening to hold the observation.

Union Home Minister, Amit Shah is set to inaugurate a newly named street and unveil a statue in honor of Bodofa Upendranath Brahma in the heart of the national capital.
 OkAccording to an official notification issued by the Office of the Superintending Engineer-I, South Zone, MCD, the road stretch from Lala Lajpat Rai Marg near Kailash Colony Metro Station (A-18, Kailash Colony) to Lala Lajpat Rai Marg near A-5/A-6, Kailash Colony will now be known as “Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma Marg.”
Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah  will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta  will attend the event as special guests. Pramod Boro, Chief Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Region , and Raja Iqbal Singh, Mayor of Delhi, will join as guests of honour.

The government of Bodoland Territorial Region and All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) jointly organised the death anniversary of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma in New Delhi with a day-long programme scheduled to mark the contribution and dedications of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma.

CEM of BTR, Pramod Boro stated that the tribute honours Bodofa’s enduring contributions to the upliftment of marginalized communities, promotion of democratic values, and advocacy for community rights. The commemoration also signifies the growing national acknowledgment of his legacy and leadership.He said that the BTR government is committed to work for all round development of the society across the region.
” The event is seen as a landmark moment in honouring Bodofa’s vision and contributions beyond regional boundaries, elevating his legacy to a national platform”,he said.

” The people of BTR is waiting to witness the grand observation of the event, as just a few hours to go.omorrow, 1 May, 2025, our revered Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma’s legacy will be immortalised in our nation’s capital with the unveiling of his grand statue and the naming of a major road in New Delhi’s Kailash Colony as “Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma Marg.The day is to be regarded as a historic day for the people of the Bodoland region as well as state of Assam”, CEM Boro said.
