KOKRAJHAR,MAR 16: The 57th annual conference of the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) concluded on Sunday after a four-day colourful event amidst presence of Union Home Minister, Amit Shah being held at the Bodofa Fwthar, Dotma in Kokrajhar district.

The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah graced as chief guest on the open session of the conference,and was accompanied by Assam chief minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma,the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Pramod Boro that saw more than two lakh public gathering from different districts of the state on the open session of the conference.

ABSU president, Dipen Boro chaired the open session where Assam assembly speaker, Biswajit Daimary, cabinet ministers, Urkhao Gwra Brahma, Atul Bora, Ashok Singhal, MPs Rwngwra Narzary, Joyanta Basumatary, Dilip Saikia, KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang, CEM of BKWAC, Mihiniswar Basumatary were present in the event.

Union Home Minister,Shah landed at the Bodofa Fwthar, Dotma in a special Helicopter amidst a huge security vigil,and was accorded warm welcome with traditional Aronai, bouquet.
On arrival in the event, Home Minister Amit Shah offered floral tributes to Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma,the pioneer of the Bodoland movement.

During the event, Home Minister, Shah was offered warm felicitation with traditional Kham,Endi waist coat,Aronai cap that gathered a huge applause of attraction of the open session.
Notably, this is the first ever session of the students union where Union Home Minister attended the annual conference in the history of the ABSU.The ABSU’s annual event brought a well attended gathering cutting across the communities and language across the state that showcased a multi community cultural demonstration on the occasion.

During the event, the students union host various programmes and events including literary, cultural, sports completions,and heid delegate session where the students union discussed at length on the welfare and development of the Bodo community and educational environment.
Union Home Minister,Shah has lauded the ABSU for its working dedicatedly towards the welfare and integrity of the Bodo and other people across the state.

In his speech,Amit Shah has made several key announcements aimed at the ushering of more sustainable development of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
Shah said that a road in the New Delhi would be named after Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma,who sacrificed his life towards the welfare and uplift of the Bodos and other down trodden communities.
” As a mark of honor and recognition of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, a road in Delhi, the capital of India, will be named after him”, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said.
Amit Shah stated that the government of India and government of Assam, have successfully implemented 82% percent of the clauses of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Peace Accord, which was signed in 2020 to ensure peace and progress in the region.
” A total of ₹1500 crore will be allocated by the Central and Assam Governments for the development of the BTR, which covers a population of approximately 35 lakh people”,he said.

The Home Minister also spoke highly about the Bodo traditional Bathou Religion. He said the Central Government will support the official recognition of the Bodo traditional Bathou religion across India, ensuring the preservation and promotion of Bodo cultural and spiritual heritage.
He has assured firm commitment to BTR’s development and welfare, said the development of BTR will always remain a priority for the Central Government, and there will be no compromise in ensuring progress in the region.
CM of Assam,Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that today is a historic day in the history of the ABSU conference where Union Home Minister Amit Shah graced as chief guest.He said that the state government and central governments are committed to work for all round development of the citizens especially for the people of the Bodoland region.He said that the government has initiated various initiatives towards the welfare and development of the region.

CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro said that the today’s moment was regarded as a historic event in the history of the ABSU.He state that Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s gracing the annual conference event marked a grand participation of the annual conference.

ABSU president Dipen Boro has extended his warm thanks to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, CM Sarma and CEM of BTR, Pramod Boro for attending the event that brought a grand success of the event.He said that the students union is working dedicatedly towards the welfare and development of the Bodo and other communities across the state.
