Udalguri sports club lifts Daoharu Mungkhlong football trophy

KOKRAJHAR, NOV 9: The Udalguri Sporting Club, Udalguri defeated Ferenga Sports Club, Bijni by 3-1 goals to lift the 25th Daoharu Mungkhlong Football Trophy championship being played on Thursday at Dotma in Kokrajhar district.

In the final match, the Udalguri Sporting Club defeated Ferenga Sports Club, Bijni by 3-1 goals amidst a huge gathering of sports lovers across the region.
Both the team have performed a strong sporting amusement in the final match which have gathered a well attended till the prize distribution ceremony on the day.

The football trophy was organised by the organising committee of the Daoharu Mungkhlong Football Trophy (DMFT) in association with Dotma Anchalik Sports Association (DASA) in memory of martyrs who sacrifice their lives during the Bodoland movement.

The champion team was awarded Rs 75,000 along with the trophy which was handed over by deputy chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Gabinda Chandra Basumatary while the runners-up team received Rs 50,000 along with a trophy which was handed over by Kokrajhar East LAC MLA, Lawrence Islary.

Naseeb Soren of Udalguri Sporting Club was adjusted as the man of the match and received Rs 5000.
A beautiful cultural demonstration was also presented on the occasion which have attracted sports spectators.
