KOKRAJHAR,DEC 27: In an initiative to extend opportunity space to the business sector and employment anong the citizens,a Loan Mela and Job Mela, an initiative by the Tamulpur district administration, was successfully held in Tamulpur on Thursday.
The event witnessed an active participation from all bank branches within the district, alongside relevant government departments in the presence of BTR executive member (EM) Dr. Dharma Narayan Das and local MLA of Tamulpur LAC, Jolen Daimary.
The department of Handloom & Textiles, Tamulpur, contributed to the event under the theme of “Weavers to Entrepreneurs: Empower Your Dreams with Weavers’ Mudra Loan.”
The department submitted 159 numbers of proposals amounting to ₹1.71 crore to various bank branches. Out of these, 8 loans worth ₹6.75 lakhs were disbursed during the event, and 49 loans, totaling approximately ₹59 lakhs, were sanctioned during the event,and accordingly participants have expressed their gratitude and thanks to the organizers for the initiative.
Notably, the initiative aims to empower local weavers, enabling their transformation into successful entrepreneurs and driving socio-economic development within the region. By bridging financial access and entrepreneurial opportunities, the program underscores the district’s commitment to fostering sustainable growth and prosperity.
EM of Bodoland Territorial Region,Das told that the event has gained people’s attraction,and sincerity while providing space to empower local weaver and enabling their transformation into successful entrepreneurs.
Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region has hailed the initiative, stated that this noble initiative has gathered people’s massive response and empowering the local weaver and entrepreneurs amongst the citizens in the region.He said that the BTR government is committed to work for all round development of the society,and accordingly rendering services for bringing welfare and development of the communities.
