KOKRAJHAR, APRIL 25: The statue of noted social activist and senior UPPL party leader of Bhergaon district, Late Rajen Boro, was unveiled on Friday at his native Gopipur Kachubil near Paneri in Udalguri district amidst a well attended gathering.
Notably,Rajen Boro, president of Bhergaon district committee of the United People’s Party Liberal,and well-known social worker passed away on 25th March this year due to brief illness at a private hospital in New Delhi.
He was an active social worker and popularly well known amongst the citizens for active involvement in the social uplift and development in his locality.
He was former president of the Paneri anchalik committee ABSU,and former convenor of the PCDR of Bhergaon district committee in 2015,and held several positions of UPPL party besides CWC member of the party till his death.
He was also recipient of 1st Bijoy Krishna Handique Memorial Award for Leadership in Wildlife Conservation in 2017, being conferred by Development Foundation of Assam.
On Friday,the Adhyasradha of late Rajen Boro was held at his native Gopipur Kachubil residence,and marking the occasion,the erected statue of Rajen Boro was ceremonially unveiled.
Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR),Assam cabinet minister, Urkhao Gwra Brahma,Rajya Sabha MP, Rwngwra Narzary,ABSU president Dipen Boro, UPPL general secretaries Raju Kumar Narzary, Madhab Chandra Chetry and several dignataries were graced and witnessed the occasion.
A memorial lecture on the dedication and contributions of late Rajen Boro was held on the occasion where a life sketch of Rajen Boro was also brought out.
CEM of BTR, Pramod Boro,the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region,and UPPL president paid tributes to late Rajen Boro on the occasion,and extended his prayers to the almighty god for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
CEM Boro stated that the constructed statue of late Rajen Boro in his honour was inaugurated on his Adhyasradha ceremony today of his
life & legacy remain an immortal inspiration amongst the citizens.
He said that late Rajen Boro was a good leader of the UPPL party,and also well known for his active involvement in the society in his locality.
” On his Adhyasradha, I offered my heartfelt respects to Late Rajen Boro, president of UPPL’s Bhergaon district committee at his Adhyasradha ceremony in Kachubil today. Also inaugurated a statue erected in his honour and paid my floral tributes. May his life & legacy remain an immortal inspiration to us all”, CEM Boro said.
Paying tributes to late Rajen Boro, ABSU president Dipen Boro remembered dedication and contributions of Rajen Boro, who was fondly well-known amongst the citizens.
