KOKRAJHAR, OCT 17: Pramod Boro, the chief executive member (CEM) of Bodoland Territorial Region(BTR ), unveiled the statue of Late Leho Ram Boro, former member of legislative assembly (MLA) of Tamulpur constituency on Monday amidst presence of well attended public gathering.
The statue has been installed at Motongapuri Park, Tamulpur which was installed by government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) to remember ideology, philosophy and contributions of late Boro amongst the citizens.
Late Boro was elected to the Assam Legislative Assembly from Tamulpur constituency in 2021. Later, he lost his life in the Covid 19 pandemic.
He was a popular amongst the citizens for his devoted contribution to the public life in the region. He served as BDO, Tamulpur & was an exceptional administrator. He was also deeply involved in cultural activities, and was widely respected by the students & citizens of the greater Tamulpur.
CEM Boro while unveiling the statue of late Leho Ram Boro recalled contributions of Boro, who was fond of citizens cutting across the communities in the greater Tamulpur area.
He said that the statue of Late Boro has been installed at the Motongapuri Park to keep alive the ideology and philosophy of Leho Ram Boro amongst the citizens.
“It is a glad moment to unveil the statue of Late Leho Ram Boro, ex-MLA of Tamulpur constituency. Late Leho Ram Boro’s life was devoted to public service. He served as BDO, Tamulpur & was an exceptional administrator. He was also deeply involved in cultural activities, and was widely respected by the students & citizens of Tamulpur. He lost his life in the Covid-19 pandemic. His memory will always remain alive in our hearts”, Boro added.
Among others, MLA Jolen Daimary, MCLAs Sajal Singha, Hemanta Rabha, Bijit Gwra Narzary were prominent attendees in the event.
