KOKRAJHAR,APRIL 16: Peoples cutting across the communities in the Bodoland Territorial Region have joined the festive celebrations of the Rongjali Bwisagu/Rongali Bihu/Bisuwa with befitting programme scheduled at different places on the last day of Choitra month and first day of the Baisak month.
In Kokrajhar,the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) celebrated the open Rongjali Bwisagu Pwrbw on Tuesday with showcasing traditional phenomenon being held at the Kokrajhar Govt HS & MP School playground in Kokrajhar.
As part of the programme,ABSU president Dipen Boro hoisted student’s union flag followed by the hoist of Bwisagu flag amidst presence of huge gathering on the occasion.
Assam cabinet minister, Urkhao Gwra Brahma,MLAs Lawrence Islary,Jiron Basumatary,ABSU advisor Khungkhra Swargiary and several senior citizens joined the Rongjali Bwisagu dance and singing event that gathered an integration with unity in the region.
ABSU president Dipen Boro extended his warm Rongjali Bwisagu greetings to all citizens of the region as well as state, said that the Rongjali Bwisagu festival is a festival of culture, language where people enjoyed with traditional phenomenon.
Peoples, especially Bodo women fraternities looking attractive beautiful with wearing of new Dhokona,Jwmgra etc for the days that attracted the celebrations of the festival.
Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region extended his Rongjali Bwisagu greetings to all citizens of the region, said that the festive Bwisagu is a festival of enjoyment with traditional way.
