KOKRAJHAR,MAY 9: Nitai Chandra Roy, police officer in-charge of Sipajhar police station in Darrang has been remanded for two-day’s police custody today in Kokrajhar.
Notably, police officer Roy was arrested by Fakiragram police early today morning after an FIR lodged against him at Fakiragram police station, case registered no.50/2023,under section 373/310/354(c)/420 IPC,R/W section 67(a) and section 4 of dowry prohibition act 1961.
Roy has been allegedly had in love affairs with a girl that pretended and betrayed a girl in the name of love affairs since few years and tried to escape from girl and accordingly the girl lodged the FIR against him.
Roy is hailed from Salbari village under Fakiragram police station and the girl is belong to Dhubri district.
Police officer Roy was brought to Kokrajhar and later produced before the CJM court in Kokrajhar.
The police officer was sent to police custody for two day’s.
