KOKRAJHAR,NOV 15: The first-ever Bodoland Mohotsov has began being held at the SAI Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi with two-day program scheduled on Friday.
The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi graced the occasion as chief guest amidst presence of huge crowd of participation from different areas of Bodoland Territorial Region, Assam and neighbouring states of the country.
The event was organised by the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU), Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Dularai Bodo Harimu Afad,Gandhi Hindustani Sahitya Sabha in association with government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
Modi was accorded warm welcomed by the cultural troupes representing different communities to mark the love and respect on the occasion.
PM Modi also inspected in the stalls of Bodo art and culture articles of Bodos which have got GI recognition.
PM Modi was accompanied by Assam governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya,CEM of BTR, Pramod Boro,Assam cabinet minister, Urkhao Gwra Brahma,ABSU president Dipen Boro,Bodo Sahitya Sabha president,Dr Surath Narzary,Gandhi Hindustani Sahitya Sabha president Prof Ramesh Bhardwaj,MPs Rwngwra Narzary, Joyanta Basumatary.
In his speech,Modi congratulated the organisers of Bodoland Mohotsov and Bodo peoples for initiating the mega event in New Delhi to highlight the uplift and development of the Bodo community’s language, culture and literature.
He has started his speech with Kulumbai -Namaskar,and extended his best wishes and greetings to all citizens of the country including the Janajatiya Gaurav Divash and Guru Nanak Jayanti being celebrated across the country.
He stated that the Bodoland region now prevailed peace and tranquility amongst the citizens since post signing of BTR Peace Accord in 2020(27th January).
He has lauded the Bodoland Mohotsov,mega event being held in New Delhi where thousands of peoples across the country participated,and enjoyed the festivity occasion.
“The Bodoland Mohotsov is a platform to gain healthy welfare and development of the Bodo culture, language, education and literature. It is a big festival held in New Delhi as the Bodoland region faced violence in last 50 years, today Bodis celebrate Mohotsov.It has been regarded as a peace and tranquility amongst the citizens”, PM Modi said.
” Today is the day of the new history of the Bodoland region as Bodos celebreated the Mohotsov in a grand manner “,Modi said.
” The BTR Peace Accord in 2020 which has paved the new way of thinking and healthy peace and happiness.
Still today,I remembered the February grand rally of peace held in 2020.

Future of the Bodos have achieved in a positive response as development is getting gain. Through the BTR Government,the region is now gaining up it’s popularity amongst the communities*,he said adding that
the Bodo Peace Accord has also led a several peace accords of different communities, and peace prevailed till date.
” More than 10 thousand member and cadres of the many militant organisations from the northeastern states have come to the mainstream and part of the social welfare and development as today Bodoland region achieved this peace and tranquility”,he said.
” I have come here to take privilege to express thanking all citizens of Bodoland region, especially Bodos who have been coming out with an ideology and philosophy towards the uplift and development of the society”,he said adding that the centre and state governments have given special packages for Rs 1500 crores and 700 crores respectively towards the welfare and development of infrastructure and educational environment through the BTR peace accord.
He has emphasized to the women and youths’ welfare and development which to be ushered in Bodoland region,and accordingly SEED mission has been engaged in BTR region.
He also stated that sports arena is also developed in BTR as Durand Cup is held for twice times in Bodoland.
CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro extended his greetings and gratitude to the PM Modi for his attending the Mohotsov today.He said that the government of Bodoland Territorial Region and Bodo community are working dedicatedly towards the welfare and development of the region.
