KOKRAJHAR, MAR 9: The platinum jubilee celebration of Kokrajhar Basic Training Centre (BTC) begins on Saturday with two-day program scheduled at the Basic Training Centre complex in Kokrajhar.
Notably, the Kokrajhar Basic Training Centre is regarded as a premier educational institution in Kokrajhar as well Lower Assam districts which was established in 1948 which is the only Bodo medium teacher training institute in the entire state of Assam, and accordingly this year celebrated the Platinum Jubilee to mark the glorious 75 years of journey in service of educational upliftment.
On the first day of the event today, Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region graced the occasion as chief guest, and unveiled the Jubilee Pillar of Basic Training Centre in presence of BTCLA speaker Katiram Boro, Padmashri Awardee, MLA Lawrence Islary, Mangalsingh Hazowary, and several dignataries.
CEM Boro has extended his hearty greetings, congratulations and best wishes to all faculty, alumni and students of the institute.He has lauded the celebration committee members and office bearers of the Basic Training Centre on the glorious journey of the educational institution.
A poem recitation competition amongst the students was also conducted.
A get-together program of the former alumni of the Basic Training Centre,and students of the institute participated the event.
On the second day of the event on Sunday, Assam cabinet minister Urkhao Gwra Brahma,Bodo Sahitya Sabha president, Dr Surath Narzary, Director of BTC Education department,JP Brahma are attending the open session of the platinum jubilee celebration.
