KOKRAJHAR ,FEB 11: The National Deworming Day was observed on Monday being held at the Banargaon High School premises in Kokrajhar with an aim to improve child health and prevent parasitic infections
Under the initiative of the event, Albendazole tablets were administered to children aged 1 to 19 years to eliminate intestinal worms and promote better nutrition and growth amongst citizens.
Health department officials and educators also conducted awareness sessions on cleanliness and hygiene, emphasizing the importance of handwashing, safe drinking water, and sanitation practices in preventing infections.
The programme was part of a nationwide deworming campaign, ensuring that children remain healthy and free from worm-related health issues, which can impact their physical and cognitive development.
The Health & Family welfare department workers, teachers, and parents actively participated in the event to support the cause.
Peoples from the area have lauded the initiative initiated by the health department to create awareness and preventive measures of the deworming.
