KOKRAJHAR, AUG 30: The ruling United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) has prepared necessary strategy and arrangements to contest the upcoming BTC elections scheduled to be held on September 22 across the region.
The UPPL party has formed central election steering committee for smooth functioning of the ensuing BTC elections with Joyanta Basumatary, Lok Sabha MP as chairman and Rudir Kumar Daimary as chief convenor along with members.
The office of the election steering committee was inaugurated on Saturday amidst presence of party leaders and workers at Bhawanipur Titaguri along the JD Road in Kokrajhar.
Rajya Sabha MP and UPPL working president,Rwngwra Narzary cut the ribbon to inaugurate the office in the presence of party general secretary Raju Kumar Narzary, MP Joyanta Basumatary,and several senior party leaders followed by a general meeting of the party.
MP Rwngwra Narzary stated that the UPPL party is fully prepared to contest the upcoming BTC elections,and so far declared 18 candidate’s names for the elections.He said that the UPPL party is so far received a huge response cutting across the communities in the region.He is confident of winning of majority seats in the elections,and forming the second consecutive term government in BTC.
Narzary told that also the UPPL party is participating the council elections under the leadership of Pramod Boro,the CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region,and getting mass support across the communities.He informed that the electioneering campaign is so far started from the party.
