KOKRAJHAR, MAR 3: In a significant step to extend financial assistance amongst the members of self help groups (SHG) across the state, the ceremonial distribution of application form under the Assam government flagship scheme Mukhyamantri Udyamita Abhiyan – Nogoria under Kokrajhar Municipal Board(KMB) areas was held at the Kokrajhar Municipal Board office complex in Kokrajhar on Sunday.

Remarkably, the scheme aims to empower SHG members to become urban women entrepreneurs and to upgrade their socio-economic status and living conditions amongst the citizens.The government has been emphasizing for bringing healthy welfare and development of self help group members amongst the society.

Kokrajhar East LAC MLA, Lawrence Islary graced the programme and distributed the application forms to the SHG members of the urban areas amidst presence of officials and wards commissioners.
Under the scheme of Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan-Nogoria, 2.5 lakh women in urban municipal areas would be provided with an assistance of Rs 10,000 as Entrepreneurship Fund.

In Kokrajhar, 2,500 members of Self-Help Groups(SHG) in 10 wards under Kokrajhar Municipality area will be benefited by the scheme.
The forms distribution ceremony begins today and will be continued till 5th March at the office complex of Kokrajhar Municipality Board, and filled up forms will be collected on 9th, 10th & 11th March

MLA Islary said that the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan-Nogoria demonstrates the government’s commitment for fostering women’s economic independence and encouraging entrepreneurship across the state.
He has lauded the state government and BTR government for initiating the venture while building up an encouraging environment amongst the women fraternities.
