KOKRAJHAR,OCT 27: Assam minister for PHE, Skill Development, Employment and Entrepreneurship, and Tourism, Jayanta Mallabaruah, conducted a comprehensive review of the developmental activities undertaken in Tamulpur district on Saturday.
This review involved an assessment of the efforts from 26 departments aimed at accelerating the district’s progress. The Minister emphasized, “In our pursuit of progress, we must ensure that the benefits reach those who truly need them—our farmers and the community at large. It is imperative that we act swiftly and decisively to turn our plans into reality.”
During the meeting, Minister Mallabaruah stressed the importance of timely completion of pending projects, particularly those designated as priorities. He expressed concern over the necessity of adequate staffing within the departments, highlighting that effective implementation hinges on having the right personnel in place.
A significant focus of the discussion was the agricultural sector, where the Minister advised departmental heads to ensure that genuine farmers benefit from rice procurement processes. He pointed out that only brokers seem to be gaining from these transactions, urging a shift in focus towards the actual farmers.
In light of numerous applications for schemes such as “PM FME” being rejected by banks, the Minister called for an immediate report from the department heads. He reiterated the importance of public welfare, stressing that the government must prioritize the needs of the community in all its initiatives.
The review meeting was attended by key officials, including local MLA Jalen Daimari, Principal Secretary of BTC Akash Deep, Secretary of Higher Education Narayan Konwor, District Commissioner Pankaj Chakraborty, Superintendent of Police Diganta Kumar Choudhury, and various departmental heads.
