Minister Brahma distributes microfinance incentives to beneficiaries in Baksa

KOKRAJHAR,DEC 14:  The Minister of Handloom, Textiles, and Sericulture, Soil Conservation, and Welfare of Bodoland departments, Govt of Assam, Urkhao Gwra Brahma, ceremonially distributed ‘No-Dues Certificates’ to 225 women beneficiaries of Baksa district under the Microfinance Incentive and Relief Scheme at a programme held at the Mushalpur HS School playground on Saturday.
Additionally, financial assistance was extended to eight flood-affected families and 97 women beneficiaries under the Seed Capital Scheme of the state government.

Addressing the gathering, minister Brahma praised the 12 Days of Development initiative spearheaded by the Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma,  emphasising its pivotal role in the development of the state. 
Speaking about the Microfinance Incentive and Relief Scheme, the minister highlighted that the issuance of No-Dues Certificates will empower the women beneficiaries to access loans from banks, fostering financial independence and economic growth.
“The state government, under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, is dedicated to launching welfare schemes that transform the lives of the people of Assam,” Shri Brahma said. He further emphasized that the government not only makes promises but ensures their delivery, citing flagship schemes such as Orunodoi as examples of its commitment to the welfare of the people.

Baksa District Commissioner Gautam Das presented an overview of the beneficiaries and their inclusion in the government’s welfare initiatives.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Speaker of the Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA) Katiram Boro, Member of Council Legislative Assembly (MCLA) Mantu Boro, BTC Executive Member Rakesh Brahma, MCLA Ghanashyam Das and EM Gautam Das.
