KOKRAHAR, AUG 23: A mega free health checkup camp and public awareness programme was conducted being held at Kokrajhar Govt College complex in Kokrajhar on Wednesday where huge peoples from different corners of the region participated for health checkup.
Over 2500 peoples from various places thronged at the health checkup event for taking health treatment was organised by Government Ayurvedic College & Hospital, Guwahati and government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), supported by the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) at Kokrajhar Government College.
The event was organised in connection with Platinum Jubilee celebration of Government Ayurvedic College & Hospital, Guwahati to create awareness on healthy health amongst the citizens across the region.
Nearly 100 doctors and several medical experts from Govt Ayurvedic College & Hospital attended the health checkup camp and rendered their health services among the attending peoples.
The chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Pramod Boro graced the occasion as guest and inaugurated the free health checkup camp amidst huge gathering.
He has lauded the organisers for organising the event for giving free health checkup services among the needy people those are suffering from various health related situation.
He has hailed that the ancient Ayurvedic medicines are a treasure house of holistic healing in the field of medical treatment.
He informed that the BTR government is working dedicatedly for all round development of the citizens. He has expressed his hopeful that the programme will greatly aid efforts in spreading awareness about the importance of holistic & traditional remedies & will help inculcate healthy living among the citizens of the Bodoland region.

ABSU president Dipen Boro while welcoming the health checkup camp being organised in Kokrajhar, said that it is a noble social venture to extend little helping hand towards the uplift and awareness amongst the citizens on health sector. He informed that the students union is committed to work for the wellbeing of the citizens to make disease from environment in days to come.
Among others, MLA Lawrence Islary, BTR executive member Ranendra Narzary, Prof. (Dr.) Pankaj Kr. Barman, Department. of Shalya Tantra, Organising Secretary, PJCC & Co-Ordinator were prominent attendees in the event.
