KOKRAJHAR, FEB 7: The leaders from the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) and Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) urged the central government to expedite properly implementation of the Bodo and Karbi Accords in the state of Assam, the 125th Constitutional Amendment to the Sixth Schedule, and the establishment of key institutions and projects in the region under the Special Development Packages to have more ushering of welfare and developmental aspects across the region.
A joint delegation team representing both of the BTR and KAAC, under the leadership Pramod Boro,the CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region, Tuliram Ronghang,,and accompanied by MPs Dilip Saikia, Joyanta Basumatary,Anarsing Tisso and ABSU president Dipen Boro, met Union minister of state for Home Affairs, Nityananda Rai at North Block in New Delhi,in the presence of Union minister of state for External Affairs Ministry, Pabitra Margherita.
The meeting had a highly productive which held on Thursday evening that discussed at length on the properly implementations of the Bodo Peace Accord and Karbi Anglong Accords with letter in spirit.
Both the council leaders,have urged the ministers to take bold initiatives to expedite implementation of all clauses of Bodo and Karbi accords, the 125th Constitutional Amendment to the Sixth Schedule, and the establishment of key institutions and projects in our region under the Special Development Package
