Kampa Borgoyary to  join UPPL on Saturday in Chirang 

KOKRAJHAR, FEB 7: The erosion wave of Bodoland Peoples’ Front (BPF) leaders have been seen continue as one after another party leaders have left the party within couple of days.
Till date, five senior party leaders have tendered their resignation from the BPF party, include former deputy chief of BTC, Kampa Borgoyary, former MLA Hitesh Basumatary.

Kampa Borgoyary,who is joining the ruling UPPL party along with more than 400 supporters and well wishers on Saturday at a programme to be held at Thaikhajhora in Chirang district, in the presence of UPPL president and CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro,and senior party leaders.

Notably, Borgoyary was represented the 14No. Chirang Duar constituency of Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly (BTCLA) for third consecutive terms since 2005 to 2020,and faced defeat in the BTC elections in 2020.
He was held the deputy chief in BTC government under the leadership of Hagrama Mohilary,and held in-charge of different departments like Forest, Tourism, Education departments etc.

He contested the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections on the BPF ticket in Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency,and faced severe defeat by UPPL candidate, Joyanta Basumatary.
Presently,he was holding position of vice president and spokesperson of the BPF party.

Borgoyary stated that he is joining the UPPL along with several hundred supporters and well wishers on Saturday.He said that he has chosen the ruling UPPL party,and decided to join the UPPL party as UPPL party under the leadership of Pramod Boro is rendering his relentless services towards the welfare and development of the citizens.

With the resigning of the several senior leaders of BPF party, marked the massive jolt to the opposition BPF party.
Recently, senior BPF leader and ex- MLA of Chapaguri LAC, Hitesh Basumatary resigned from the primary membership and all positions of the party.
The resignation of Basumatary from the party has set a major blow to the opposition BPF party,and he sent his resignation letter to the BPF party president, Hagrama Mohilary.
Basumatary was president of Mushalpur district committee, BPF party and former executive member of Bodoland Territorial Council.Senior party leaders of BPF party including CWC member Pranjit Basumatary, organising secretary Afjal Khan, and active party leader Kripananda Roy have resigned from the party.

Notably,the BPF was reigned in the BTC from 2003 to 2020,and now in the opposition in Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly.
Political analysts have said that the opposition BPF party is now facing frustration on it’s existence.
