KOKRAJHAR, APRIL 18: Eminent environmentalist and Forest man of India,Jadav Payeng was conferred 5th edition of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma Award-2023 at a programme held at Police Colony, Hauz Khas in New Delhi today.
The award has been instituted by Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma Trust(GKBT) in memory of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma, eminent social reformer and preacher of Brahma Dharma,who born at Kazigaon Parbatjhora.
The award comprises of a citation, endi shawl, momento and cash money.
Chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro and chairman of GKBT,Dr Ajit Boro conferred the award to Payeng amidst presence of huge gathering.
The 164th birth anniversary of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma was observed today in New Delhi with a day-long programme scheduled, being organised by Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma Trust in association with government of Bodoland Territorial Region and Delhi Unit of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU).
The award giving ceremony was chaired by Urkhao Gwra Brahma, Assam cabinet minister and Sahitya Akademi award winner.CEM Boro while attending the event expressed his gratitude and happiness, said that it is a blessed and honoured to have had the privilege to inaugurate the 164th birth anniversary observance of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma at Community Centre, Police Colony, Hauz Khas, New Delhi.
He has recalled contributions and dedication of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma, which has been a source of inspiration for everyone. His message of peace & universal brotherhood continue to resonate with us.

Forest man of India,Payeng said that it is an inspiring for him as today he was honoured with Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma award being conferred by Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma Trust in memory of social reformer Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma.
Among others, Prof. Ramesh Bhardwaj, vice chancellor,Rajya Sabha MP Rwngwra Narzary,MLA Lawrence Islary, BTR executive member Dr Nilut Swargiary,Bodo Sahitya Sabha general secretary Nilo Kanta Goyary were prominent attendees.
