KOKRAJHAR,MAR 8: Along with rest of the state,the International Women’s Day was celebrated with befitting programme scheduled across the districts of Bodoland Territorial Region on Saturday.
In Kokrajhar,the women cell of UPPL party celebrated the day at the Gandhi Maidan in Gossaigaon with a day-long programme scheduled.
As part of the program, UPPL women cell president Pratibha Brahma hoisted the flag on the occasion followed by homage to the martyrs.
A rally was also carried out to mark the celebration where several thousand women fraternities participated akong the streets in Gossaigaon town.
Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region graced the occasion as special guest.
Tinat Atifa Masood, imminent social activist graced the occasion as chief guest.
CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro extended his warm greetings to all citizens, especially women fraternities on the occasion, said that today is a especial day for the women community across the globe.
He said that the government of BTR is dedicated to ensuring women’s rights, representation, and empowerment.
