Marks a milestone initiative of Govt of BTR

KOKRAJHAR,DEC 30: Marking a significant step,the Community Vision Document for Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) was launched on Monday amidst presence of a well attended gathering being held at ITA centre,Machkowa in Guwahati.

Notably,the “Community Vision Document” is a first-of-its-kind initiative in BTR’s history that aims to bring all 26 communities of Bodoland region,apart from Bodo, Gorkha, Assamese, Muslim, Bengali, Rabha, Garo, Adivashi, etc.
The government of BTR has initiated the vision,and accordingly the vision document was launched highlighting the integration and tranquility amongst the communities in Bodoland region.

Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya graced the occasion as chief guest,and ceremonially launched the Community Vision Document in the august presence of Assam Legislative Assembly speaker Biswajit Daimary, Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, Assam cabinet ministers, Urkhao Gwra Brahma, Atul Bora Ranjeet Kumar Dass,Ashok Singhal,Dr Ranoj Pegu, and several distinguished dignitaries.

Governor Acharya has appreciated the initiative of BTR government and CEM Pramod Boro for bringing the vision document in Bodoland Territorial Region.He said that the BTR government is now become an area of peace and tranquility where peoples cutting across the communities are residing in a congenial environment.He has lauded the CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro and his team for taking noble initiative of the region.
He stated that the peace, progress and protection is prevailed in Bodoland region since signing the BTR Peace Accord in 2020(27th January).He has expressed his observed that the inauguration of the vision document of the BTR’s is a milestone for citizens under the leadership of Pramod Boro,the CEM of BTR.

Governor Acharya said the Community Vision documents of BTC was a good initiative as they want to establish peace and equal development of Bodoland. He said the vision of Bodofa UN Brahma and social reformer Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma had been being translated in to reality. The Bodoland Happiness Mission is an example of holistic efforts of BTC government to ensure peaceful co-existence and development, he said without peace and communal harmony the sustainable development will not be possible and hence people of BTR should stand together and work together for vikshit Bodoland. He hoped that the BTR Community Vision Document will not only bring infrastructure development of the region but will also develop the education and other sectors as well. He also said he had firm believe in Pramod Boro’s vision document to ensure protection and development of all communities of the region.

Today,the BTR is now ushering in the field of welfare and development across the communities that seeing amongst the peoples.This event marks a milestone initiative from the government venture”, Governor Acharya said.

Assam cabinet minister, Atul Bora lauded the community vision document initiative which was initiated by the government of BTR while highlighting the integration and tranquility amongst the communities those are residing in Bodoland region.He
” Today,the BTR show a sustainable peace and tranquility since signing of BTR peace accord in 2020. It was a time a decade ago,everyday the day was welcome by the breaking news of killing, murder, bombing, kidnapped in BTR, but today the region saw a day of spreading peace and prosperity with dignity tranquility amongst the communities. I laud the CEM of BTR Pramod Boro and BTR government for initiating the venture to pave the way for bringing healthy welfare and development “, he said.

In his introductory speech, the CEM of BTR, Pramod Boro said the government of India led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi prioritized “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikash and Sabka Viswash” and respecting this theme, the government of BTR has been working with inclusive vision for the equal development and justice of all communities living in BTC. Co-existence will be a remarkable example in BTC as the people of the council have come together for peace, co-existence and equal development. There had been violence, killings, clashes and law and order problems in BTC and fratricidal killings among the Bodo brothers but after BTR peace accord and subsequent formation of the present council government , peace has returned and the council government is going to take all communities along with equal justice and development.
He has stated that the Community Vision Document embodies aspirations of all 26 communities of BTR, a blueprint for our collective vision of a Viksit BTR & Visksit Bharat.

“This project aims at sustaining peace and harmony, while also enhancing development opportunities for all the communities. By engaging in ways that honor relationality, respect and dignity of all individuals and communities, this process transects towards acknowledging, documenting and resolving the long-pending issues and unmet aspirations of the tribals and other vulnerable communities. In this way, it seeks to provide a guiding framework to the government and various other agencies for addressing the unique needs and collective goals of the Bodoland region”, CEM Boro said.

Among others,MPs- Joyanta Basumatary, Dilip Saikia, noted journalist and social activist Padmashree Patricia Mukhim, Deputy Chief of BTC Gabinda Chandra Basumatary, noted journalist and Chancellor of Nagaland University Samudra Gupta Kashyap, Vice Chancellor of Bodoland University Prof. BL Ahooja, ADGP (SB) Hiren Nath, noted journalist Wasbir Hussain, Executive editor of Assam Tribune, P J Baruah and other distinguished dignataries were present in the event. The programme was also attended by the community leaders of 26 communities living in BTR.
