Gujarat Assembly speaker Shankar Chaudhary visits Bodo village in BTR

KOKRAJHAR ,APRIL 11: The speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, Shankar Chaudhary, on Thursday visited Bogajuli in Tamulpur district of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Assam, where he got a firsthand experience of traditional Bodo culture, including folk dance, handloom crafts, and rural Bodo village life.

Chaudhary was accompanied by Assam Legislative Assembly speaker, Biswajit Daimary and BTC MCLA Bijit Gwra Narzary and several senior officials.
 Upon arrival, the dignitaries were accorded a warm welcome with traditional Bodo dance performances and the ceremonial Aronai, a symbol of Bodo hospitality and honor.

The delegation later toured nearby Bodo villages, where they observed various traditional practices and aspects of indigenous lifestyle, gaining insight into the rich cultural heritage of the Bodo community.

 The group also traveled to Samdrup Jongkhar in Eastern Bhutan — a picturesque town located adjacent to the Bodoland Territorial Region. There, they were warmly received by local residents and members of the Bhutan-India Friendship Association, further strengthening the ties of cultural and regional friendship between the two neighboring regions.

” Speaker’s visit from Gujrat in Bodoland region will strengthen the integration and communication in both the region while connecting with the peoples.The delegation have witnessed the traditional and indigenous people’s culture, handloom crafts”, said Biswajit Daimary, speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly.
