Govt of BTR signs MoU with Sishhu Sarothi

KOKRAJHAR,JUNE 27: A Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU) was signed between the Women & Child Development department, Govt. of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR ) & Shishu Sarothi Centre for Rehabilitation & Training for Multiple Disability, Guwahati which has been aimed for empowering differently abled persons of BTR.

The signing of MoU was held at the BTC Secretariat, Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar on the presence of Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, senior government officials,and officials from Shishu Sarothi centre.

The MoU is pursuant to the goal of empowering differently abled persons of BTR as envisioned in our vibrant BTR Budget for the financial year 2024-25.

The MoU will pave the way forward for the establishment of a residential training programme in COPA, multimedia, secretarial practice and other vocational courses in ITI, Dhauliguri, Kokrajhar for the youth with disabilities in BTR. This will be further enhanced to cover all ITIs in BTR.

” I’m happy to announce that a memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Women & Child Development Dept., Govt. of BTR & Shishu Sarothi Centre for Rehabilitation & Training for Multiple Disability today. The MoU will pave the way forward for the establishment of a residential training program in COPA, multimedia, secretarial practice and other vocational courses in ITI, Dhauliguri, Kokrajhar for the youth with disabilities in BTR. This will be further enhanced to cover all ITIs in BTR.Subsequently, this MOU will extend to technical and specialised guidance in improving the functioning of District Early Intervention Centres, hand-holding support for educational & other institutions in providing inclusive education, and any other project as conceived by the Govt of BTR or arising out of the field experience of Shishu Sarothi for the welfare of CWNs and PWDs”, CEM Boro said.

” This joint initiative will usher in a new era of empowerment, inclusion & financial freedom for our Divyang brethren and help greatly in securing a dignified, productive future for our Children with Special Needs”, Boro added.
