Governor Acharya holds interaction program at Bodoland University

KOKRAJHAR,SEP 21: The Governor of Assam and Chancellor of the Bodoland University, Lakshman Prasad Acharya, held an interactive session at Bodoland University on Saturday in Kokrajhar district.

During the program, Acharya emphasized the crucial role of universities and students in the development of the nation. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi sees them as one of the country’s greatest strengths. The Governor urged students and faculty fraternities to work towards making Bodoland University a top educational destination.

The chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Pramod Boro, speaking at the event, assured that the government is actively addressing the university’s issues to support its growth and development. He also reiterated BTC’s dedication for enhancing the educational framework across the Bodoland region.

The event also saw the participation of Kokrajhar district commissioner, Masanda Pertin, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Babu Lal Ahuja, along with other officials, professors, and students.
Meanwhile,the Governor of Assam, Lakshman Prasad Acharya, visited Bodoland Silk Park and Eri Spun Mill at the Adabari in Kokrajhar on Saturday.
He has expressed his happiness and satisfaction with the varieties and high-quality products of the mill. He emphasized the need for effective advertising and marketing strategies to promote eri products globally. The Governor also asked a report outlining the mill’s specializations in days to come.

The Governor was accompanied by Assam cabinet minister for Handloom & Textiles and Sericulture department, Urkhao Gwra Brahma, BTC Executive members Dhananjay Basumatary and Daobaisa Boro, BTC Secretary Jatin Bora, Kokrajhar District Commissioner Masanda Pertin, and senior government officials.
