KOKRAJHAR, JULY 19: The Ghoskata unit lifted the 4th edition of the U-13 football tournament of Banargaon Anchalik Committee, ABSU defeating Khagrabari unit by 5-4 goals in the final match being held at the Kanthalguri Udangshri Club playground in Kokrajhar on Friday.
The U-13 boy’s football tournament was organised under the aegis of Banargaon Anchalik Committee of All Bodo Students Union to hunt sporting talents amongst the citizens in the region,and accordingly nine teams participated the tournament.
In the final match today,Ghoskata unit ABSU beat the Khagrabari unit ABSU by 5-4 goals.
In the first half, Khagrabari was led the match by 2-1 goals against the Ghoskata unit ABSU.In the second half,Ghoskata unit have been earned four more goals against the Khagrabari ,and accordingly won the tournament by 5-4 goals while Khagrabari alsi scored another two more goals against the Ghoskata unit.
Giyansu Brahma of Khagrabari unit ABSU was adjusted as best player,and awarded the best player trophy.
Kampa Basumatary, general secretary of the Kokrajhar district committee, ABSU graced the prize distribution ceremony as chief guest and handed over the championship trophy and cash prize money.
Hantigiri Narzary, UPPL media secretary and Kalendra Basumatary, headmaster of Kanthalguri LP School have handed over the runners up trophy and cash prize money to the runners up team.
Both, Narzary and Basumatary have contributed the cash prize money for winning & runners up team,and trophies & medals respectively in the football tournament.
The final match event was chaired by Karuna Kanta Basumatary, chairman of the conduct committee.
Among others,ABSU leaders from Banargaon Anchalik Committee,Bodo Sahitya Sabha,Boro Somaj, Tribal Sangha, Banargaon Development Committee were prominent attendees in the event.
A beautiful Bodo cultural demonstration dance was also showcased on the occasion.
