KOKRAJHAR, APRIL 17: FIve candidates have filed their nominations for Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency till Wednesday to contest the parliamentary elections.
Gorjon Mushahary of Indian National Congress (INC), accompanied by APCC president Bhupen Borah and AICC general secretary,Pawan Khera filed his nomination papers before the returning officer of Kokrajhar district commissioner office today after a rally.
Mushahary expresses his confidence of winning the elections in a massive support of common masses.
Lalit Pegu of Voters Party International(VPI ), and three independent candidates Ranjoy Kumar Brahma, Pritiviraj Narayan Dev Mech and Jhon Das submitted their nomination papers before the Returning Officer at Kokrajhar District Commissioner office in Kokrajhar.
As per the notification, the last date of filing nomination is April 19, while the scrutiny of the same will be done the next day.
The last day for withdrawal of candidature has been fixed on April 22.
Voting in Kokrajhar (ST) constituency will take place in the third phase on May 7 along with Guwahati, Barpeta, and Dhubri constituencies.
