FIFA standard football ground inaugurates in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, JULY 29: Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) formally inaugurated the newly upgraded Sand Based Advance FIFA standard football ground with hi-tech smart sprinkler and smart internal drainage system at SAI stadium in Kokrajhar on Monday amidst august presence of dignataries,and officials from Indian army.

The SAI stadium has been decorated with modern technologies that has been emphasizing for building up healthy sporting events in Bodoland Territorial Region.
SAI stadium in Kokrajhar is all set to host the 133rd edition of the Durand Cup,2024, scheduled to be begin on Tuesday for Kokrajhar leg.

Necessary arrangements and preparation is so far completed for the opening of the Durand Cup with deployment of security and some other equipments across the entire stadium.
During the opening match, Bodoland FC is taking on Northeast United FC on Tuesday.
The Durand Cup football tournament is being organised by Govt of Bodoland Territorial Region in association with Indian Army.
The Durand Cup is this year held for second edition in Kokrajhar in BTR which has been creating a sporting amusement amongst the sport lovers.

CEM Pramod Boro has extended warm greetings and welcome to all members of the organising committee,and officials.
He said that Kokrajhar gets now a FIFA standard football field as today opening ceremony held at the SAI stadium.

With the inauguration of the “Sand Based Advanced Football Ground with hi-tech Smart Sprinkler and Smart Internal Drainage System”, the SAI STC Stadium in Kokrajhar has become the First sports complex in the North East to have FIFA-standard facilities”, Boro said.
Among others, BTR executive members Daobaisa Boro, Nilut Swargiary, MLA Lawrence Islary,Indian army officials were present.
