KOKRAJHAR, OCT 20: The financial grants distribution ceremony for former cadres of National Liberation Front of Bodoland (NLFB) was conducted at Madhabdeb international auditorium, Kalakhetra in Panjabari of Guwahati on Friday amidst witnessed of huge gathering.
The grants was carried out by the government of Assam, under the special initiative of chief minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma to extend financial grant and support to the former NLFB cadres.
A total of 181 former cadres of the NLFB were given away financial grants, and each of cadre has been given away Rs. 2 lakh to enable them to reintegrate into society.
The financial grant distribution ceremony saw a grand attendance across the region.
Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, MLA Lawrence Islary, BTR executive member Ranjit Basumatary, Assam DGP,GP Singh, Additional DGP Hiren Nath were prominent attendees those present in the event.
CEM Pramod Boro has lauded the NLFB’s decision of shunning violence & embracing the path of peace in the state. He said that the BTR government and government of Assam have initiated strong step to make a healthy social environment in the region. He said that since the signing the BTR peace accord, the Bodoland region get a peaceful social environment with strong integrity amongst the communities.
“The visionary leadership of Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi Ji and Union Home Minister, Amit Shah has brought an end to the dark decades of violence in Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Today, a sustained peace reigns across our region and Bodoland region is steadfastly advancing towards peace and progress”, Boro added.
