KOKRAJHAR,JUNE 7: In a significant development that may reshape the political landscape of the region, 15 supporters from the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) formally joined the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) today. The induction ceremony took place at the residence of Executive Member (EM) of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Daobaisa Boro.

The new entrants were warmly welcomed by EM Boro and senior party leaders in a gathering marked by enthusiasm and renewed political spirit in Udalguri district as well across the region. This move is being seen as a clear indication of growing public support for the UPPL in the region, ahead of upcoming local elections.

While addressing the gathering, EM Daobaisa Boro expressed his gratitude and extended a warm welcome to the new members. “The UPPL continues to work for the inclusive development and unity of all communities in Bodoland. I’m confident that these new members will strengthen our commitment to serve the people with honesty and dedication,” he said.

The newly joined supporters cited UPPL’s progressive agenda and commitment to grassroots development as key reasons behind their decision to switch allegiance. They also pledged to contribute actively to the party’s efforts in uplifting the region.

Political analysts believe this development could signal a shift in voter sentiment, as local leaders and grassroots supporters reconsider their affiliations in favor of parties that prioritize regional empowerment and inclusive governance.

The UPPL has been steadily gaining momentum in the BTR under the leadership of President Pramod Boro and its cadre of dynamic young leaders. Today’s additions further bolster the party’s growing influence and grassroots strength.
