KOKRAJHAR, APRIL 23: The celebration of Silver Jubilee of UN (Upendra Nath) Brahma College, Dotma was concluded on Sunday with an open session held at it’s college complex in Kokrajhar district.
Notably, the college was founded in 1997 to extend educational services in the greater Dotma as well it’s adjoining areas and marking the 25 year glorious steps completion, the college celebrated the silver jubilee
Assam cabinet minister for Education,Dr Ranoj Pegu graced as chief guest, Assam cabinet minister for Handloom & Textile, Urkhao Gwra Brahma and chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Pramod Boro were graced as guests on the occasion.
Minister Dr Pegu laid the foundation stone for the construction of the library building along with development of second floor of the college building while CEM(BTR), Boro laid the foundation stone for the construction of the statue of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, former president of All Bodo Students Union at the college compound.
Dr Pegu emphasized the importance of professional education after formal education and urged students to develop their skills with hard studies while acquiring higher educational careers.
He has highlighted that being skilled will lead to better opportunities and success in the future.The minister’s message was well-received and appreciated by the teachers and students.
” I am happy to participate in the silver jubilee celebration of the UN Brahma College. In this event, we lay foundation stones for the construction of library and second floor development of the historical institute. In the 25 year-old colourful educational circle, such construction works will help college in progress in days to come “, Dr Pegu added.
While attending the event, CEM (BTR), Pramod Boro expresses his happiness, said that it is a delighted moment to be present in the silver jubilee celebration of the UN Brahma College.
He has lauded the college authority and organizers of the silver jubilee celebration,said that the college is rendering services in the field of education and social integration in the region.
” My heartiest congratulations to all the students, teachers and faculty of the college”, Boro added.
The cabinet ministers, Dr Pegu, Brahma also paid a visit to Bodofa UN Brahma’s house at Boragari Dotma and interacted with the family members and paid tribute to Bodofa on his Bodofa memorial tomb at Thulunggapuri Dotma.
