KOKRAJHAR,SEP 16: The Education minister of Assam,Ranoj Pegu today visited the Kokrajhar-the city of peace,and attended the several meetings held in Kokrajhar to review the educational related matters.
Minister Pegu graced at an interaction program with all headmasters,principals of High Schools, Higher Secondary Schools, Senior Secondary Schools of Kokrajhar & Chirang districts, and senior departmental officials being held at the BTCLA auditorium, Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar.
Minister Pegu reviewed the educational infrastructure and curriculum of the schools, and discussed measures being undertaken to enhance the quality of education in Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
Minister also chaired a review meeting held at the Bineswar Brahma Engineering College in the august presence of Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, MLA Lawrence Islary, principal of the engineering college,and senior departmental officials.
Minister Pegu attended as chief guest in the Freshmen Social Day celebration of Girls’ College, Kokrajhar.
During the meeting,the minister took stock of the educational infrastructure and curriculum of the engineering college, and discussed the overall growth of BTR’s education sector in the meeting.He said that the students’ admission enrollment in the Girls’ College is seen increased especially in Kokrajhar as well across the state.He informed that necessary infrastructure development for Girls’ College,Kokrajhar has been provided through the WPT department, government of Assam.He said that the skill educational environment has been emphasizing under the NEP,2024 in the state through which students are getting opportunities to take higher studies.
He said the government is making efforts for providing skill education in the degree courses in colleges across the state.
Minister Pegu highlighted the introduction of both hard and soft skill courses in degree programs at colleges and universities starting this academic year, in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP).
Pegu emphasized the importance of integrating additional skills with conventional academic education to better prepare students for the workforce. He also announced allocation of funds for upgrading the infrastructure of Girls College Kokrajhar through the Department of Welfare of Plain Tribes.
Minister Pegu stated that he has reviewed the educational related matters during his visit in Kokrajhar today.He said that the meeting and interaction with principals and education departmental officials was witnessed healthy and fruitful.
CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro stated that minister Pegu’s visit was saw a good gesture towards the Usher of the educational environment in Bodoland region.He said that the minister reviewed educational environment in Bodoland region,and shared interaction with school principals from different districts of the region.
